Used in the excision, coagulation or electro-conization of abnormal tissue growth or lesions in the Cervix called Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia (CIN) and HPV related Condylomata Acuminate, in combination with an electrosurgical generator which is called as LEEP procedure.

Diathermy loop uses a thin wire loop attached to an electrical unit. LEEP is an abbreviation for Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure. It is also referred to as Large Loop Excision of the Transformation Zone, or LLETZ.  Several types of CIN can become cancerous if not found and treated in time. Removal of the abnormal cells can help prevent cancer of the cervix.
